Excellence in Design

CBGH Studio is excited to share its recognition at the recent 2023 HIA NSW CSR Housing and Kitchen and Bathroom Awards.

Whilst earning recognition across a number of categories: Kitchen Design of the Year (finalists for Kieraview, Living on Lloyd and Springshome projects), Bathroom Design, Renovated Kitchen over $60 000, and New Kitchen over $60 000, it was the success of our Living on Lloyd project being awarded the winner of 2023 NSW Bathroom Design of the Year and the 2023 NSW New Kitchen over $60 000.

The judges commented on the confident use of texture and colour without comprising functionality or privacy, and how much they loved they designer curves, and the round skylight, in this fun and fabulous bathroom.

Working to enhance the rounds and curves, taking its cue from an adjoining wall, this contemporary bathroom is a playful nod to both colour and texture. A ’false’ wall was added to increase in depth and additional storage in the recessed shaving cabinets which allowed us to insert the curved frame around the louvered windows, echoing the circular sky light above. Almost a separate room within the bathroom itself, the walk-in shower is hidden behind its curved wall allowing for privacy if someone else needed to use the vanity space in the early morning rush.  The feature tile also adds a texture and movement, its shape highlighted by the contrasting grout, grounded by the terracotta coloured terrazzo look floor.

The bathroom feels very connected to nature – whether lying back in the bath enjoying the freshness of the trees and outdoor space or in the evenings bathing under the stars and beneath the moonlight/skylight

National Recognition

The success of this project will now see it amongst the nation’s best in Bathroom Design at the HIA National Awards in May next year.

“We are excited and honoured to represent NSW in this category” commented Creative Designer, Gavin Hepper.
